The Seahawk and Ocean Hawk are variations of the Sikorsky S-70. When the U. S. Navy's LAMPS (Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System) program required a helicopter with a capability superior to that of the Kaman Seasprite which won the LAMPS Mk 1 contract, substantial commonality with the UH-60A meant that significant economies could result from selection of the navalised S-70L, the SH-60B Seahawk. This version has chin-mounted surveillance radar, ESM (electronic support measures) equipment, a starboard-side pylon for MAD (magnetic anomaly detection) equipment, a sonobuoy launcher, automatic rotor folding, tail pylon folding, and modified landing gear. Initial deliveries were made on March 24, 1979. The SH-60F Ocean Hawk provides inner ASW screening for US carrier battle groups, and is less heavily equipped than the Seahawk. The Ocean hawk is a replacement for the SH-3H Sea King. These models are in precision polymer to exacting specifications. They are hand painted, and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
