Ordered into production on January 17, 1933, production aircraft began to enter service in June 1934, and in addition to conventional duties in a bomber role, a number were operated for a time on large twin floats for coastal patrol. The Martin B-10 remained in US Army Air Corps service until the late 1930s, with many being sold to other countries. Those flown by Dutch crews in the Netherlands East Indies were among the first US bombers to see operational use during World War II. The Martin B-10B was a major production version with 103 built; and had a maximum speed of 213 mph at optimum altitude, service ceiling of 24,200 ft, and a maximum range of 1,240 miles.
