To an Imperial Japanese Navy requirement of 1937 for a land-based bomber to supersede the G3M, the company designed the extensively-built G4M, a roomy mid-wing monoplane whose prototype was flown for the first time on October 23, 1939. With service trials proving satisfactory, the type was ordered into production in 1940, and entered service in the summer of 1941. The final production version, the G4M3 Model 34, attempted to reduce the shortcomings of its predecessors by introducing self-sealing fuel tanks and adequate armor protection. The G4M3 was a seven-crew long-range bomber with a maximum speed of 292 mph at 16,895 ft, service ceiling of 30,250 ft, and a maximum range of 2,694 miles. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
