Originally designed while imprisoned by Vladimir M. Petlyakov, the Pe-2 was originally designed as a fighter, but evolved instead into an outstanding tactical bomber. The first production Pe-2 was flown on November 18, 1940, and by June 22, 1941 a total of 458 had been delivered. From late April 1941, the P3-2 became the standard tactical bomber of the Soviet air force, with the result that when production ended in early 1945, a total of 11,427 had been built. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
