First flown in prototype form in June, 1917, the Nieuport Type 28 was markedly different from the earlier models. The familiar narrow lower wing and square-cut wing tips gave way to rounded wings of almost equal size and the familiar V-struts were replaced by parallel struts; and the rectangular-section fuselage was superseded by one of circular section. Probably the most famous unit to be equipped with Type 28s was the 94th Aero Squadron, of whom Eddie Rickenbacker, who was to become the top US ace, flew a Nieuport Type 28 with the squadron. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
