The prototype for the Brewster F2A Buffalo was first flown in December of 1937, and became the first monoplane fighter to equip a squadron of the US Navy. In 1939, the Navy ordered 43 of an improved version with a more powerful engine, an improved propeller, and a built-in flotation gear. Designated F2A-2, this began to enter service in September 1940. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
