Lockheed L-1011 TriStar model airplane The first TriStar flew on November 17, 1970. The L-1011 TriStar was designed originally as a large-capacity short-medium range transport, though later versions were designed for long range. At the end of 1981, Lockheed, disappointed by lack of sales, announce that with the end of TriStar production it would withdraw from the civil jet airliners market. The 250th and final TriStar rolled off the Burbank, California line in August 1983. The L-1011 had a maximum cruising speed of 605 mph at 30,000 ft, service ceiling of 42,000 ft, and range with maximum payload of 5,998 miles. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
